TACLOBAN CITY, May 25, 2018–Hundreds of survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda that devastated the region in 2013 said their prayers and venerated the relics of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus that recently visited parish churches in the Archdiocese of Palo for three days.
Military chaplain Msgr. Tirso Dolina said the pilgrim relics are in the country since on the request of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines.
Accompanying the relics, he said they first visited the Diocese of Naval last Saturday and came to the Palo archdiocese through the Holy Cross Parish in Carigara on Sunday and Monday morning at the St.Anne Parish in Sta. Fe, Leyte and in the afternoon at the Sto. Niño Church in Tacloban City.
From Tacloban, the relics will be moved to other parishes outside the archdiocese.
Some Yolanda survivors said they felt blessed being close to the first class relics of a saint who is widely venerated in modern times. (Nestor Abrematea / Visayas Times)
