Public employment office now open to student applicants

BORONGAN, March 1, 2017—The province’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) has started accepting applications for this year’s Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) which will run from April to May 2017.

According to Eastern Samar PESO Manager Christine Babiano, the province has 70 slots open for qualified students and out-of-school youth aged 15 to 30 years old.

In 2016, students who worked for the full duration of the program received P5,000.00 each.

The program, which aims to augment income for students during the summer break, is done annually by the provincial government in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment.

Interested applicants may visit the PESO office at the ground floor of the provincial capitol in Borongan City for more information.   (Medora Quirante / Este News)
