GUIUAN, EASTER SAMAR, June 2, 2017–A barangay-parish in Salcedo, Eastern Samar is set to welcome pilgrims from all over Eastern Samar for this year’s diocesan Pentecost vigil on June 3.

With the theme: “The Parish as Communion of Communities,” the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish in Barangay Matarinao will play host to the clergy, religious and lay faithful of the diocese as they gather as in commemorating the Holy Spirit’s descent upon the apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Registration of participants begins at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Welcome ceremonies will follow at around 6 o’clock in the evening.

Priests will be available for confessions while the Blessed Sacrament is exposed prior to the pentecost vigil liturgy.

Borongan Bishop Crispin Varquez will preside over the stational mass at 9 o’clock in the evening and the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will also be re-commissioned by the bishop before the mass ends.

All parishes, church organizations and renewal movements are invited to participate and join this annual event.

Last year, the diocesan pentecost vigil was hosted by the Chaplaincy of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Sabang, Borongan City. (Roel Joe Abonal / Este News)
