THE youth of the Diocese of Borongan gladly received the pilgrim National Youth Cross and the blood relic of St. John Paul II when they were turned over to them by the youth of the Diocese of Calbayog at the boundary of Samar and Eastern Samar on Mach 23, 2019.  The first stop and liturgical reception was at the St. James the Greater Parish in Taft, Eastern Samar where they stayed overnight.  From there they proceeded to Borongan, Maydolong, Llorente, Guiuan, Salcedo, Balangiga and Lawaan where, at the boundary to Samar province, they were turned-over to the Archdiocese of Palo on March 27, 2019.  Several young people that gave testimonies revealed profound spiritual experience with the blood relic of St. John Paul II that accompanied the National Youth Cross. This year is being observed by the Catholic Church in the Philippines as Year of the Youth, in preparation for the celebration of the 500years of Christianity in 2021.   (ESTE News)
