BORONGAN CITY, May 30, 2017–Beneficiaries of the “Pabahay Program” of the National Housing Authority or NHA will be the recipients of a skills training program to be implemented by the Technical Skills and Development Authority.
According to TESDA Provincial Director, Enrico Banario, P7M, has been allocated for Eastern Samar under the Yolanda Rehabilitation Program.
This will be implemented in the towns most affected by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013. These are the municipalities of Guiuan, Quinapondan, Gen. MacArthur, Hernani and Balangkayan.
But Director Banario stressed that only those who are recipients of NHA housing projects are qualified for the program. Those who are beneficiaries of NGO and INGOs housing projects will not be included.
Under the Yolanda Rehab program, qualified beneficiaries can avail of free skills training/courses of their choice.
Some of the more popular training courses offered by TESDA are Cookery, Baking, Welding, Driving, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Computer System Servicing and Bread and Pastry production.
These trainings will equip them with the necessary tools that will help them in their livelihood and give them a better chance at finding employment, as they continue to rebuild their lives more than three years after Yolanda. (Eden Cidro/Este News)
