BORONGAN CITY, September 26, 2017–The city government of Borongan has earmarked P5 million for the construction of a drug rehabilitation facility in barangay Campesao.
In an interview, City mayor Maria Fe R. Abunda said the funds will be part of the city’s budget for 2018.
The proposed rehabilitation center will be located near the city’s fire station, police station and evacuation center and once constructed, will be the first of its kind in the province.
According to the city mayor, there are also proposals for the establishment of a city hospital.
As of this writing, four barangays in the city have already been declared drug-free by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. (Medora NB Quirante / Este News)
