DOLORES, Eastern Samar, March 10, 2017—The Municipality of Dolores is a recipient of a new health facility.
To be inaugurated today, the Dolores Community Health Center is a two storey building, funded by a Php 24 Million grant from the Emirates Red Crescent Authority (ERCA) of the UAE.
The center will provide maternal services, immunization, diagnostic and other health services. It will be equipped with an X-ray and ECG.
According to Miss Celsa Dala, Administrator of the Philippine Red Cross, Eastern Samar Chapter, the center will be turned over to the PRC, and LGU Dolores, that will jointly manage the facility.
The LGU will be responsible for the operation, including the staffing and maintenance of the center.
The PRC will open a branch of the main chapter, and will put up a blood bank.
It is expected that the center will provide quality health services, not only to the residents of Dolores, but to the people in the seven municipalities in the northern part of the province.
The facility will implement programs that will lessen child mortality, improve maternal health and improve the health behavior of people.
ERCA is expected to turn over the building and facilities to the Philippine Red Cross, LGU Dolores and the DOH today.
Expected to grace the turnover are HE Hamad Saeed Hamad Obaid al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Philippines and Dr. Mohamad Ateeq Sultan Zayed al Falahi Secretary General of ERCA.
Senator Richard Gordon, Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross and officials of the Department of Health, and local government officials are expected to attend the ceremony. (Eden Cidro/Este News)
