BORONGAN CITY, June 14, 2017–A new Schools Division Superintendent for the Borongan City division was installed yesterday in simple rites led by DepEd Regional Director, Dr. Ramir Uytico.

Dr. Gorgonio Diaz Jr. CESO V, replaced Judith Boco, who now heads the Eastern Samar division. This is part of a region wide reassignments of top education officials.

“For the good of the organization, we need to move our people. I need to give our superintendents and assistant superintendents opportunities to grow. Transferring them will give them the chance to learn new things and face new challenges”, said Dr. Uytico in his message.

He called on the officials and teachers of the city division to support their new chief and “help Dr. Diaz so that his stay here will be fruitful”.

He told Diaz “not to make any step that would ruin the city division”.

He further challenged the superintendents that it would be a big help to the department “if all our divisions, especially in Samar island would take care in the hiring, procurement and instructional supervision”.

Dr. Diaz, 47 years old, is a native of Mondragon Northern Samar.

Prior to this new assignment, he was the division superintendent of Samar province.

He thanked the regional office for the confidence given him.

He gave his commitment to serve the teaching and non teaching personnel, and especially to the “learners” in the city division.

According to Diaz, he brings with him to Borongan “his expertise, experience and exposure”.

He assured the outgoing SDS that he will “continue to implement the programs, projects and activities under the division banner project Translead”, at the same time enjoining the city division personnel to “join me as we work for the realization of the department’s vision”.

For her part, SDS Boco expressed her thanks to the personnel who supported her through the years especially during the times when the very young division was experiencing “birth pains”.

She headed the division for five years.

Boco was also installed yesterday as the new chief of DepEd Eastern Samar, replacing Bernardo Adina who will now take the helm of the Northern Samar division. (Eden Cidro/Este News)

  1. Good day, SIR/MA’AM i want to clarify and please do me a favor about the ranking system of Maydolong Central School. I am also a teacher but i was assigned in other places but i am native samarinian nga taga Maydolong mismo.
Please give a sort of attention of these two pupils from the said school that they brought the good name of our division because they won the past provincial meet for ballroom dancing which is a standard dance and they brought the champion. Unluckily their academic grades was affected as they are in the higher ranks from 2nd rank to 4th rank. The pupils am i mentioning they are both my mga “umankon”both partner in that dance contest that was held at Dolores Eastern Samar. Ira mga ngaran KRISTAN CYREL B. GUNDA & JAIRUS L. GUNDA they are both in Grade in an intermmediate grade.
Sad to know they was given a lowest grade in mapeh, science etc. I think in the k to 12 curriculum the teacher should provide a module for the absence of their pupil most especially on their provincial meet affair which is in lined with the school event. My question is,how do their teachers computed their grades wherein the highest percentage of making grades now is “Performance” Output/projects of the learners. Or else with the absence of these pupils they made some interventions to cope up their academic grades most especially they are academically inclined. The parents called my attention about this matter because they are convincing their children not to go to EVRAA which is to be held on February. My question is;what would be the last recourse of these pupils not to go to evraa just to maintain their top rank in their school but they bring HONOR the whole province of Eastern Samar. But these mga pag umankon ko mga intresado talaga maki contest para EVRAA but they are frustrated with the grades given by their teachers. Who are the ranking committee of every quarter result, the adviser & the teachers assigned in every subject,do they have any dialoque/consultation in every individuals or the school head. These pupils decreased from top 2 to top 4,why?what are their basis?
Please am requesting a sort of attention of these matter so that these pupils/learners will not be frustrated or confused where are the skills to be prioritized.Am very sorry for sharing this kind of problem just a sort of clarification from your/our division office because their parents are really convincing their children not to go that EVRAA contest but these pupils are very interested to go this kind of competition. Please do me a favor just to be private my name.
Thank you very much and God bless!
