BORONGAN, March 2, 2017—Starting March 6, the city fire marshal and other personnel of Borongan City Fire Station will visit elementary schools to talk about fire safety.
According to a press release from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Berong Bumbero, the BFP’s mascot, will top bill the school hop as part of a nationwide month-long program to mark Fire Prevention Month.
On March 1, BFP personnel held a short program and motorcade to signal the start of the series of activities centering on theme, “Kaligtasan sa Sunog: Alamin, Gawin at Isabuhay Natin.”
The awareness campaign in schools, scheduled until March 9 will use story-telling to appeal to children’s understanding and appreciation. (Medora Quirante / Este News)
