BORONGAN, February 23, 2018–THE Diocese of Borongan is hosting the 43rd Regional Youth Coordinating Council Central-Eastern Visayas Region on February 23-25, 2018.
Delegates to the gathering are youth directors of the Archdioceses of Cebu and Palo and the Dioceses of Dumaguete, Tagbilaran, Maasin, Talibon, Calbayog, Catarman, Naval and Borongan.
According to Fr. Roneil Canillas, director of the Commission on Youth of the Diocese of Borongan, foremost among the agenda that will be tackled during the meeting are the plans and preparations for the upcoming Regional Youth Days and the National Youth Days.
The youth directors will also be sharing experiences of youth programs that are implemented in their own local ecclesiastical jurisdictions, said Canillas.
On February 22, 2018, Pope Francis released his message for the 33rd World Youth Day that carries the theme, ““Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God” (Lk 1:30).
This year, the World Youth Day will be held locally in Rome and in every local diocese throughout the world on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018, as is traditionally practiced every after an international celebration of World Youth Day. Last Year it was held in Poland, next year in Panama.
The Diocesan Youth Coordinator, Sister Josefina Labata, disclosed that the RYCC will be highlighted with a pilgrimage of all delegates to the Diocesan Shrine of St. Antonio of Padua in Sulangan, Guiuan, Eastern Samar on Feb. 25. (Alren Beronio / Este News)
