GUIUAN, Eastern Samar, February 9, 2020–Authorities found the body of a fishing hobbyist who was reported missing since yesterday.
Police identified the fatality as Delberto Moreno, a resident of Quinapondan E. Samar, one of four men hit by big waves while fishing in the rocky portion of Monay beach, Bgy Ngolos, Guiuan, on Saturday, February 8.
Moreno was with Sherwin Amosco, Jordan Catayong and Leonardo Pagatpat, members of a fishing club in Borongan, when the incident happened.
Moreno and Amosco were swept out to sea, while Pagatpat and Catayong pulled through and reported the incident to the authorities.
Rico Ryan Sabulao, MDRRMO Officer said that the Search for Sherwin Amosco will continue tomorrow morning. Moreno was brought to the nearest Hospital in Guiuan for post mortem examination. (Alren Beronio ESTE News)
