
Over Five Thousand devotees joined the Pilgrim Walk to Sulangan, Guiuan, Eastern Samar this year on the eve of the feast of St. Antonio of Padua celebrated in the whole Catholic World on June 13. According to Janet Ramos, the tourism officer of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, the crowd started swelling when the walk started following the religious service presided by Fr. Jayson Gamalo at the Guiuan Plaza. She confirmed that this year was the biggest crowd in seven years. The parish church of Sulangan is the diocesan shrine of St. Antonio de Padua. Last March 17, 2019, Bishop Crispin Varquez received in a religious ceremony a first class relic of St. Anthony sent from Padua in Italy. (Alren Beronio / ESTE News)
