BORONGAN CITY, May 5, 2020—Households not included in the national government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) will receive P2,000 from the provincial government.
SAP beneficiaries received P5,000 towards the end of April as part of the government’s effort to aid families suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Ben Evardone made the announcement about the cash aid on May 4, 2020 in a meeting with the provincial inter-agency task force on COVID-19.
According to the governor, the provincial government has coordinated with city and municipal mayors to identify would-be beneficiaries of the cash assistance.
Aside from recipients of the SAP, beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program are also ineligible for the P2,000 cash grant.
In a Facebook post, Evardone said barangay tanods and barangay health workers will receive P500 from the provincial government after receiving P1,500 under SAP.
Also, since Barangay Nutrition Scholars received P1,200 under SAP, the provincial government will give them an additional P800.
