BALANGIGA, Eastern Samar, July 9, 2019—Over a hundred thousand local and national tourists have visited the historic Balangiga Bells six months since the three bells were returned to Balangiga Parish last year.

The Balangiga Parish Pastoral Council is now keeping at least six record books of registered tourists who visit the parish Church where the bells are displayed since December last year.

Valeria Adricula, a member of the Parish Pastoral Council, said there are at least fifty tourists who arrive daily to see or take photos of the famous bells.

The Balangiga Parish Pastoral Council has been commissioned to oversee the tourism arrival in the parish.

The Balangiga Bells were returned to Balangiga on December 15, 2019, one-hundred and seventeen years after these have been taken by the American forces as war booty in 1901. (Alren Beronio / ESTE News)
